A Blooming Sensation: The Rise of Dearest Dahlia
Dear Readers,
It appears that once again a most captivating bloom is preparing to command attention in our fair countryside of Leitrim. Yes, again, for Dearest Dahlia returns, opening its gates once more in July 2026, much to the delight of those who have waited patiently for its reappearance.
Now well known among society’s circles, this flourishing floral venture offers not merely flowers but a true celebration of elegance. Dahlia cut flowers, lovingly cultivated in rich Irish soil, await those wise enough to plan ahead.
This season brings with it 40 brand new dahlia varieties, alongside a cherished selection of golden oldies from years past. In total, some 200 dahlia plants will be in full voice, producing a breathtaking array of colours, forms and personalities, quite enough to make even the most seasoned horticulturist weak at the knees.
The much anticipated Pick Your Own Bouquet Days will return once more, with the gates opening to those eager to wander the rows and select their own perfect stems. Be advised, dear readers, booking early is essential, as these coveted slots are known to disappear with remarkable speed.
Adding further excitement to the season, Dearest Dahlia will also host two back to back Sligo Secret Gardens charity events in early August, a most worthy cause set amid an abundance of late summer blooms.
Mark your calendars accordingly, for this is not a debut but a triumphant return, and one would hate to arrive late only to find the finest flowers already claimed by the ton.
Yours most devotedly,
Dearest Dahlia🌿💐
